This Privacy Policy explains how the Xianyu (Goofish.com) Assistant browser extension ("the extension") handles data. This extension is an independent, third‑party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Xianyu (goofish.com), Alibaba, Google, DeepSeek, or Superbuy.

Summary

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our own servers. There are two narrow exceptions, described below, both of which exist solely to power the features you actively use.

What data is transmitted, and to whom

• Search translation (Google Translate): When you type a search term into the extension's floating search box, that text is sent directly to Google's translation API (translate.googleapis.com) to convert it into Chinese before the search runs on Xianyu. No account information, browsing history, or other identifying data is sent — only the text you typed into that specific box, at the moment you use it.
• Advanced Search (DeepSeek hand-off): If you click "Advanced Search," the extension copies a ready-made prompt to your device's clipboard and opens chat.deepseek.com in a new tab. The extension does not send anything to DeepSeek itself — it only writes to your local clipboard. Whether you then paste and submit that text into DeepSeek's chat is your choice, and that exchange is governed by DeepSeek's own privacy policy, not this one.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect, log, or transmit your browsing history.
• It does not collect personally identifiable information, financial or payment information, authentication credentials, health information, or location data.
• It does not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the specific features described above.
• It does not use data for creditworthiness or lending determinations.

Local storage

The extension uses the browser's local storage permission to save your preferences (e.g., preferred currency, feature toggles) and cached exchange rates on your own device. This data stays local to your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.

Exchange rate data

The extension periodically fetches current currency exchange rates from api.exchangerate-api.com to keep price conversions accurate. This is a one-way fetch of public exchange-rate data; no user data is sent as part of this request.

Third-party services referenced

This extension links to or interacts with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Translate (translation of search terms)
• DeepSeek (optional chat hand-off for advanced search phrasing)
• Superbuy (optional international shipping service, via affiliate link)
• exchangerate-api.com (public exchange rate data)

Limited Use disclosure

The extension's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
